Each year, ASPT awards a number of graduate student research grants. Some of these are named, endowed grants, and are awarded to the highest ranked proposals. Named grants include the Rogers McVaugh, William R. Anderson, Shirley and Alan Graham, W. Hardy Eshbaugh and the new Vicki A. Funk Grants. The number of unnamed grants will vary with availability of funds. For 2019, unnamed grants did not exceed $1,200 and named grants did not exceed $1,500. These grants are intended to help defray the cost of doing research. Applicants submitting proposals should be sure to provide budget justifications of $1,500 to take full advantage of possibly being selected for a named grant. Proposals will be funded on the basis of merit, regardless of the research area within systematics. Past grantee project descriptions, by year, are available through the following links:
