Abstract. The genus Piper is revised for Honduras with a total of 42 species and one subspecies recognized. A key to sections within Piper is provided based on a recent phylogenetic analysis. The descriptions are organized alphabetically, but species are keyed out according to the appropriate section within Piper. Information concerning distribution and ecology of species or subspecies is included, along with additional or representative specimens examined and miscellaneous notes, such as ethnobotanical value and important comments concerning agreement/disagreement with previous studies. Illustrations for 34 of the 43 taxa are provided, including one new species, Piper hazlettii Bornst. & F.G.Coe, described herein.
