Assistant Professor of Biology (Botanist)

Northwest Missouri State is seeking to fill a tenure track position in the Department of Natural Sciences. We are a PUI with a small MS Biology program, so the ability to deliver coursework for undergraduates is of prime importance. Teaching assignments for this position will largely focus upon two courses in plant biology. The first is a 100 level introduction to Botany that serves as a requirement for all biology majors and plays an essential role in our introductory sequence. The second course would be Local Flora, a field course that focuses upon local plant diversity and is required for our Wildlife Ecology and Conservation students, as well as many General Biology students. Additional teaching assignments may include introductory biology surveys, Evolution, Plant Anatomy, Plant Physiology or other courses, depending upon the background and area of specialty of the successful candidate. Faculty are also expected to contribute service (departmental, university, student) and develop their scholarship involving undergraduates or MS students.
