Dr. Funk (1947 ~ 2019)
ASPT is sad to announce the passing of Dr. Vicki Funk, former ASPT President and recipient of the Asa Gray Award. Vicki, a curator at the National Museum of Natural History (Smithsonian), was a champion of systematics (especially Compositae!), a strong supporter of early-career scientists, and an enthusiastic and generous member of our Society. She will be missed! A student research grant was established in her honor at the 2019 annual Botany meetings in Tucson.
