Flora of Pennsylvania Internship - Morris Arboretum

The Morris Arboretum and The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University are seeking an intern for the Flora of Pennsylvania program. The intern will receive training and work experience in many aspects of managing collections in a major herbarium, and an opportunity to contribute to a modern state flora through a research project. Summer 2019 REU in Botany and Conservation Biology - Missouri Botanical Garden

Ten students will be chosen to participate in a ten-week program involving full-time work on an independent research project, with the guidance of a staff mentor, in addition to educational seminars, discussion sessions and field trips. Available projects deal with subjects including plant taxonomy, restoration ecology, conservation biology, plant morphology, and emerging crops. Application deadline is February 28, 2019.

Botany Field Team Lead - Great Basin Institute

In cooperation with the National Park Service and Capitol Reef National Park, the Great Basin Institute is recruiting a Botany Field Team Lead to join our AmeriCorps program. The Botany Field Team Lead will support the Capitol Reef National Park Division of Resource Management & Science and serve as a member of the rare plant monitoring crew assisting resource staff with surveys and demographic monitoring of three federally listed plant species.

Conservation and Land Management Internships

The Conservation and Land Management Internship Program places 75-100 college graduates in five-month paid internships to assist biologists with federal (BLM, NPS, FWS, FS, USGS, etc.) and non-profit partners. Interns gain hands-on experience applying their education in real-world setting, make connections in various governmental and non-profit organizations. Applicants with strong botany experience are especially encouraged to apply!
