ASPT is seeking applicants for the Society’s annual graduate student research grants competition. Support is available for both masters and doctoral students to conduct fieldwork, herbarium studies, and/or laboratory research in any area of plant systematics. Flora of Pennsylvania Internship - Morris Arboretum
The Morris Arboretum and The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University are seeking an intern for the Flora of Pennsylvania program. The intern will receive training and work experience in many aspects of managing collections in a major herbarium, and an opportunity to contribute to a modern state flora through a research project. Applications are strongly encouraged from individuals in minority groups.
Summer 2019 REU in Botany and Conservation Biology - Missouri Botanical Garden
Ten students will be chosen to participate in a ten-week program involving full-time work on an independent research project, with the guidance of a staff mentor, in addition to educational seminars, discussion sessions and field trips. Available projects deal with subjects including plant taxonomy, restoration ecology, conservation biology, plant morphology, and emerging crops. Application deadline is February 28, 2019.
